One terrorist killed in Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Mar 1 (IBNS): On terrorist  was killed in an ongoing encounter  with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district, police said on Thursday morning.

According to reports, security forces cordoned off Hajin town after receiving inputs about some terrorists are hiding in the area.

As they closed in on the hiding terrorists, they fired at security forces, triggering the encounter.

"During gunfight one foreigner terrorist  has been killed in the encounter so far. The firing are still going on,” an official added.

Jammu and Kashmir Police chief SP Vaid tweeted: "One terrorist of LET apparently FT killed in an encounter in Hajin Bandipore today morning in a joint operation of J&K Police/Army/ CRPF. "

Meanwhile, clashes erupted between protesters and security forces to foil the anti terrorist operation.

On Monday, one terrorist was found dead in Hajin area after he was reportedly injured during a gunfight with forces on same day .
