Omar Abdullah questions Centre over 'non-official' level talks with Taliban
Srinagar, Nov 9 (IBNS): Ex-Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday questioned the Centre over its decision to sit for talks with the Taliban at a non-official level but not engaging into any dialogue with the Kashmiri separatist leadership.
"If 'non-official' participation in a dialogue that includes the taliban is acceptable to the Modi government why not a 'non-official' dialogue with non-mainstream stake holders in J&K? Why not a 'non-official' dialogue centered around J&K’s eroded autonomy & its restoration?," Omar tweeted.

India on Thursday said it will participate in a non-official level meeting in Moscow over the issue of Afghanistan where Afghan Taliban representatives will also be present, media reports said.
"In a significant departure from India’s stand on engaging the Taliban, the government announced it would participate at a “non-official” level, sending two former senior diplomats to attend talks on the Afghanistan peace process to be held in Russia on Thursday," reported The Hindu.
Sources told The Hindu that India will send two retired diplomats, Amar Sinha and TCA Raghavan as its representatives.
The meeting will take place on Friday.
