Odisha: Several injured as BJD MLA rams car into crowd in Khurda, thrashed by irate mob

Banapur:  In a grim reminder of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in Uttar Pradesh, BJD MLA from Odisha's Chilika, Prasanta Kumar Jagadev, rammed his car into crowd at Banapur in Khurda district on Saturday morning.

Over 20 people, including seven cops, were injured in the incident.

The MLA has also been hospitalized after being thrashed by irate people while his SUV was also vandalized.

A BJD spokesperson said the MLA has been suspended from the party for "his such acts".
