New Delhi, Oct 17 (IBNS) As Maharashtra awaits the result of the Assembly polls held in the state, the Shiv Sena on Friday indicated at a possible reconciliation with its former alliance partner Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamana, the party said: "There is no need to have arguments or bitterness any more."

It further said 'hearts' have been broken and its difficult to mend 'broken hearts'.

People in Maharashtra exercised their franchisee in the Assembly poll in the state on Wednesday.

The counting of votes will take place on Oct 19.

The BJP decided to fight these elections alone in both the Congress-ruled states with Prime Minister Narendra Modi campaigning extensively in run up to the election.

In Maharashtra, two long-time alliances, the BJP and Shiv Sena, parted their ways following disagreement over a seat sharing deal.

The Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) alliance also came apart over seat sharing days before voting, making this a four-sided contest with Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Narvnirman Sena (MNS) providing a fifth.
