Nitish Kumar blasts Rahul Gandhi for ‘compromising’ with corruption, Congress slams

| @indiablooms | Feb 04, 2019, at 10:18 pm

Patna, Feb 4 (The Bihar Post/IBNS): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday hit out at Congress chief Rahul Gandhi for allying with the RJD of Lalu Prasad.

“Rahul Gandhi had once famously torn apart the ordinance but now he has joined hands with the same type of people,” Kumar told the media on Monday.

The ordinance Kumar referring was aimed at reversing a Supreme Court order on disqualification of convicted politicians.

Kumar is irked at the way Rahul has been giving prominence to the RJD and even heaped praises on young RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav during his party rally in Patna on Sunday.

“He has squandered his goodwill by allying with the RJD. It seems corruption is no longer an issue for him,” the chief minister said.

The Congress reacted bitterly by reminding Kumar as to how he has made a climb-down and eaten his own words many times in the past.

“The man who once had declared to make India RSS-free and claimed ‘mitti mein mil jayenge lekin BJP se haath nahin milayenge…’ is now standing with the same BJP but preaching us on morality,” reacted a Congress leader.

Moreover, he had formed his government with the support of the RJD headed by the same Lalu Prasad in November 2015 while the RJD chief had already been convicted in corruption case in 2013.

“What kind of morality is this?” asked the leader.
