Nineteen opposition MLAs suspended for nine months for creating ruckus in Maharashtra Assembly

Mumbai, Mar 22 (IBNS) : The speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly on Wednesday suspended 19 opposition legislators for nine months for creating ruckus in the House during the presentation of the budget, reports said.

According to reports, the MLAs  have been banned from even entering the premises of the House till December 31.

The suspended MLAs include  Vijay Wadettivar, Bhaskar Jadhav,Abdul Sattar, Amit Zanak, Amar Kale and Avdhoot Tatkare — all from the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

On Saturday last, the suspended lawmakers had entered into the well of the lower house and shouted slogans, demanding a loan waiver for farmers.

They also waived banners and sang bhajans for about two hours. The copies of the budget were also burnt outside the legislature.
