New Delhi: Fire at a shoe factory in Narela, one dead

New Delhi/UNI: A person died in a fire at a shoe factory in Narela area here on Saturday night damaging a two story building, Fire department said.

The body that was recovered after the fire fighting operation is yet to be identified.


''The burns were to such an extent that it is not clear whether the victim was a male or a female'', a local source said.


The fire that was reported at around 0045 hours took almost eleven and a half hours to douse and the operation came to an end at around 1115 hrs this morning.
The fire was of 'medium ' category , as per the fire official.


A total of twenty one fire tenders were deployed by the fire services to tackle the blaze which is said to have damaged the structure that was built in three hundred and fifty square yards and has a basement, ground and first and second floor.


The exact cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
