New Delhi, Mar 16 (IBNS): The Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of Nepal Bimalendra Nidhi called on the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi, on Thursday.

Rajnath Singh expressed his grief on the recent death of a Nepalese national at the Indo-Nepal border in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh.

He stated that India will carry out a fair and impartial inquiry into the incident and help Nepal in the effort to arrive at the truth.

Rajnath Singh said that wherever strip maps have been finalised, the same should be signed by the concerned authorities at the earliest.

He also said that the two countries enjoy friendly and family like relationship with each other in all areas, including security and border cooperation.

The Union Minister said that any incident taking place even unknowingly, should be settled through joint inspection and investigation by the representatives of two sides.

The Home Minister also asked for regular meetings between DG, SSB and Nepalese counterpart agency Armed Police Force (APF).
