'Neither CM thrown me out nor I left TMC': Suvendu Adhikari amid speculations over his political position

Kolkata/IBNS: Maintaining suspense over his political position, West Bengal Minister and heavyweight Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader, Suvendu Adhikari, on Thursday said he was still a member of West Bengal's ruling party.

Addressing a rally in Ramnagar, Adhikari, who had made veiled attacks on a section of TMC leadership over the last few days, said, "Neither the Chief Minister has thrown me out nor I have left the party."

"I am still the primary member of TMC," he added.

Adhikari's statement has gained significance as a few TMC leaders had reached out to the Transport Minister following the rebellion.

In recent times, the minister addressed a number of public meetings which were completely devoid of any mention of TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and her party's symbol.

In one of the rallies, Adhikari made an indirect attack on Banerjee's nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee saying, "I haven't reached this position by parachute or elevator. I have reached this point by climbing the stairs."

Remaining almost tight-lipped over Adhikari's political position, TMC leader Sukhendu Sekhar Roy said on Wednesday, "Suvendu Adhikari is a key party leader and an important minister of the government."
