NEET protest escalates! CJP demands PM Modi's resignation after Sonam Wangchuk's forceful removal
New Delhi/IBNS: Anti-government protests over the alleged NEET paper leak intensified on Saturday, with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resignation after activist Sonam Wangchuk was forcibly removed from the protest site at Jantar Mantar.
Wangchuk shifted to hospital on 21st day of fast
On the 21st day of his hunger strike, Wangchuk was taken away by Delhi Police from Jantar Mantar and admitted to Safdarjung Hospital amid growing concerns over his deteriorating health.
Videos circulating on social media showed police personnel covering Wangchuk with a white cloth before carrying him into an ambulance.
Protests intensify after police action
Chaotic scenes unfolded at the protest site as CJP supporters objected to Wangchuk's removal, leading to clashes with police and an escalation of the agitation.
Dipke announces indefinite hunger strike
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who has been leading the protests seeking Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over the alleged paper leak, announced an indefinite hunger strike following Wangchuk's removal.
Addressing a large gathering, Dipke said the administration was mistaken if it believed Wangchuk's removal would bring the protest to an end.
CJP to march to Parliament, seeks PM's resignation
Dipke said the planned Parliament march on July 20 would go ahead as scheduled.
He also announced that the protesters would now expand their demands to include Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resignation, describing Wangchuk's removal from the protest site as a "despicable act."

Delhi High Court had expressed concern
The police action came days after the Delhi High Court directed the Centre to ensure Wangchuk's health amid concerns over his prolonged fast.
According to media reports, Wangchuk has lost around 9 kg during his 21-day hunger strike.
Protest centred on NEET paper leak, education reforms
The protest, spearheaded by the online satirical campaign Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), is demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak.
The campaign has also called for broader reforms in India's education system.
