Narendra Modi urges states to act strictly if incidents of attack on Kashmiris occur

New Delhi, Mar 8 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reacted to the recent attack on Kashmiris in Uttar Pradesh and urged state government to act against those who are found involved in such crimes.

"It is crucial to create an environment of unity in the country," he said.

"I am urging state governments to take strict actions whenever such an incident occurs," he said.

The Uttar Pradesh police arrested four people are a video emerged where two Kashmiri people were attacked by a group of men in Lucknow this week.

The footage of the incident went viral on the social media.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi also condemned the incident.

Reports of attacks on Kashmiris have emerged since the Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir on Feb 14 which left 40 Indian paramilitary forces personnel killed.
