Narendra Modi, Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi discuss greater cooperation over Chabahar Port

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held talks with Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi when they reiterated their commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation including to realize the full potential of Chabahar Port as a connectivity hub.

During their conversation, the two leaders also discussed matters of bilateral and regional importance.

"Prime Minister highlighted that India- Iran relationship is underpinned by close historic and civilizational connections, including strong people to people contacts," read a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs on Friday.

The two leaders also discussed cooperation at multilateral forums, including the expansion of BRICS, and looked forward to their meeting on the margins of the forthcoming BRICS summit in South Africa.
