Narendra Modi placed ninth in Forbes list of powerful people in the world

New Delhi, May 9 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ranked as the world's ninth most powerful person, as per the list published by Forbes magazine on Wednesday.

Modi is ahead of Google co-founder Larry Page who is ranked 10th in the list.

The Indian Prime Minister ranked ninth in the Forbes 2018 list of 75 of the World's Most Powerful People.

Speaking on Modi, Forbes said: "India's populist prime minister remains hugely popular in the second most populous country on earth, with a population of 1.3 billion people."

Modi is ahead of  Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg (ranked 13), United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May (14), Chinese Premier Li Keqiang (15) and Apple CEO Tim Cook (24) in the list of powerful people.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani also found a place in the list. He ranked 32.

Chinese President Xi Jinping topped the chart for the first time.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ranked second in the list.

US President Donald Trump ranked third in the list.
