Narendra Modi discusses agriculture, fertilizers, other areas of mutual interest with Russian Deputy PM
Russian Deputy PM Dmitry Patrushev met Indian PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday, when they discussed enhancing cooperation in agriculture, fertilizers, food processing and other areas of mutual interest.
A statement issued by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said: "PM conveyed his warm greetings to President Putin and said that he looked forward to welcoming him to India for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit."
Following his meeting, Modi wrote on X: "Happy to meet Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev at the World Food India 2025. We discussed ways to strengthen our win-win cooperation in agriculture, fertilizers and food processing."
The meeting occurred amid deteriorating ties between India and the US in recent months over the Donald Trump-led administration's decision to impose 50 percent tariffs on India.
