Even as the ruling Trinamool Congress takes a lead in West Bengal as the counting progressed, BJP's Nandigram candidate Suvendu Adhikari is leading over TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee by over 8200 votes after the completion of third round of counting, reports said.

According to reports, 14 more rounds of counting are left in Nandigram.

Nandigram witnessed a high voltage and prestigious fight between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her former lieutenant Suvendu Adhikari who switched over to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
