Kohima, May 23 (IBNS): Neiphiu Rio on Friday resigned as the Chief Minister of Nagaland.

The three-time Chief Minister tendered his resignation to Governor Ashwani Kumar.

He made the move following his victory in the recently held Lok Sabha polls.

T R Zeliang of Naga People's Front has been appointed as the new Chief Minister of the state.
