Nagaland by-poll : Eight candidates in fray for two assembly seats

Kohima, Oct 20 : Total eight candidates are in fray in the by-elections for two assembly seats in Nagaland schedule on Nov 3.

Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Sinha on Monday has issued the final list of the contesting candidates for the bye-election to 14 Southern Angami-1 and 60-Pungro Kiphire assembly constituencies.

The last date of withdrawal nomination was ended on Monday.

Kikovi Kirha of NPF, Medo Yhokha of NDPP, and Seyievilie Peter Zashumo, Independent will contest for the 14 Southern Angami-1 assembly constituency.

On the other hand, Khaseo Anar of Congress, Lirimong Sangtam of BJP, and three independent candidates Kiusumew Yimchunger, K. Shellumthong, and T.Yangseo Sangtam will contest for 60-Pungro Kiphire assembly constituency.

The Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer said that, there are 13,641 electors and 22 polling stations under 14-Southern Angami-1 and 29,601 electors with 77 polling stations at 60-Pungro Kiphire assembly constituency.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Nagaland said that, the poll will take place between 6 am to 4 pm on Nov 3.
