My best performance, says Kher as Congress changes stance on Manmohan film
Mumbai, Dec 28 (IBNS): Actor Anupam Kher on Friday said playing former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in The Accidental Prime Minister was his best performance till date.
"I am not going to back off. This is my life’s best performance. #DrManmohanSingh will agree after seeing the film that it is a 100% accurate depiction," Kher said on Twitter.

The trailer of the former PM's biopic was released on Thursday and already has 11 million views on YouTube. The film, which is scheduled to hit cinemas on January 11, is the film adaptation of a book by the same name written by Sanjaya Baru, PM Singh's media advisor and chief spokesperson from May 2004 till August 2014.
The trailer, which shows friction between Manmohan Singh and the Gandhi family, had initially received adverse reactions from sections of the Congress party with Maharashtra Youth Congress leader Satyajeet Tambe Patil demanding a special screening before the movie's release on January 11. But the Congress changed tactics after the BJP shared the trailer on its official twitter handle with a "riveting" review.
"As BJP has tweeted trailer of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister movie from their official Twitter handle... it is now evident that it is BJP's propaganda / campaign movie ... hence we don't even want to see this campaign movie of BJP and we withdraw our demand of special screening," tweeted Patil.

The trailer hints that the film delves deeply into how Singh became the Prime Minister of the country back in 2004 and gets caught in between the Congress party and government.
Akshaye Khanna, who plays the character of Singh's media advisor Sanjaya Baru, apears to narrate the story in the film.
German actor Suzanne Bernert plays the role of then Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Arjun Mathur will be seen as present Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, who was earlier Sonia's deputy in the party.
Sonia's daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been played by Aahana Kumra.

Singh, an economist and politician, became the Prime Minister in 2004 and remained in the post till 2014. He ran the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for 10 years.
