Mumbai, Feb 22 (IBNS): A 28-year-old woman, who is a mother of two, has been murdered by his husband in Mumbai while she was boarding an auto, media reports said.

Geeta Dubey was attacked by her husband Prasad Rawat, who slit her throat as she got into the auto at 9.15 pm on Monday from Tomato Lane near Goregaon station.

Dubey was on her way to her mother's house in Malad West.

According to reports, the husband first slit her throat and then stabbed her in the chest before fleeing from the spot.

The auto driver took the victim to a hospital where she was declared dead due to heavy blood loss.

Police on Tuesday morning arrested the husband after scanning the CCTV footage.

Initial reports suggested that the motive of murder was marital discord.
