Mumbai, Sept 25 (IBNS) Three doctors in Mumbai's state-run King Edward Memorial (KEM) hospital were allegedly beaten up by relatives of a child who died of dengue, reports said.
The child was brought to hospital at about 5 am on Friday but he could not be taken to the ICU due to lack of beds. He was admitted in the general ward and he died in 2 hours.
Following this, irate relatives of the child thrashed resident doctors.
Three of the doctors were injured and admitted to hospital
In protest, more than 1,200 resident doctors at the KEM hospital are on strike as a sign of protest.
The doctors have demanded that until an FIR is not filed under Doctors Prevention Act and the accused arrested, they will continue with the strike.
