MNM condemns attack on Kamal Haasan

Puducherry, May 17(UNI) The Puducherry unit of the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) on Friday condemned the hurling of chappal and eggs at the election meeting of Party President Kamal Haasan in Aravakkuruchi of Tamil Nadu on Thursday.

In a statement here, MNM President Dr.M A S Subramanian said, some coward activists of certain parties who could not understand the historical truth stated by Hassan that Nathu Ram Godse who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi is the first terrorist of Independent India, indulged in such activities.

The fact that they threw chappal and eggs after Kamal Haasan finished his address clearly shows that they are cowards and dare not to have a straight confrontation, Subramanian said.

He also said that abusing Haasan using unparliamentary words for stating this historical truth need to be condemned and added that the people will teach a fitting lesson to the government which failed to initiate action against such persons.

Subramanian expressed solidarity of the Puducherry Unit to the actor-turned politician.

He also said that usually politician will try to hide facts for votes. But Kamal Haasan daringly stated and as he got popularity at the National level.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi out of apprehension that the vote bank of the BJP may slide stated that there is no Hindu terrorism in India, no Hindus will indulge in terrorism and any one indulging in terrorism cannot be a Hindu, he added.
