MK Stalin joins Rahul Gandhi's Bihar rally, BJP dares DMK chief to repeat 'insulting remarks against Biharis'

Patna/IBNS: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's visit to poll-bound Bihar has prompted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to remind him of past remarks where DMK leaders had allegedly insulted the people of the state.

Stalin, a part of the opposition INDIA bloc, joined Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's rally in Bihar, which goes to polls later this year.

BJP's Tamil Nadu unit leader K Annamalai posted on X, "TN CM Thiru @mkstalin avl is in Bihar today. Here is an evergreen compilation of his, his party members', and his alliance partners' uncouth remarks about our Bihari brothers and sisters.

"Hope he takes the stage with Thiru @RahulGandhi avl and proudly repeats every one of those insults in front of the very people he and his party members mocked."

BJP Leader CR Kesavan told ANI, "Will MK Stalin, who is joining Rahul Gandhi on his 'Samvidhan Badnaam Yatra,' wish the people of Bihar on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi? Because MK Stalin, in the past, has always avoided Tamil people wishing on Hindu festivals.

"But more importantly, what will be on the minds of the people of Bihar about how senior DMK leaders have previously propagated 'badnaam Bihar' and the way senior DMK leaders have insulted the dignity of the people of Bihar..."

Union Minister Dr. L. Murugan told ANI, "...I don't know which language he will speak in Bihar. Even if he speaks English, it will reflect his colonial mindset. Our prime minister is erasing the colonial mindset, and we are promoting our Indian culture and tradition.

"So, if he chooses to speak in English there, the local people will still translate it into Hindi. What is the use of his participation in the rally in Bihar?..."

Despite the criticisms, Stalin joined Rahul, his sister and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav in the rally.

Rahul is trying to corner the NDA government headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from the Janata Dal (United) on the allegations of "voter fraud".

Stalin, who is an ally of the Congress in Tamil Nadu, on Wednesday raised the same issue participating in the Bihar rally.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the bigger ally in the NDA government in Bihar, has made the Election Commission of India (ECI) its "puppet".

"If elections are conducted in a fair manner, the NDA is going to lose. They (Centre) have made the Election Commission a puppet that is being run by a remote control. Removing the people of Bihar from the voters' list is not right...," Stalin said as quoted by ANI.

Meanwhile, the controversy over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar has subsided after the Supreme Court last week ordered the ECI to accept Aadhaar card as one of identity proofs required to furnish by the voters for the drive.

The top court has asked the ECI to accept Aadhaar card as the document from the voters, whose names were excluded from the draft rolls.
