Minor girl from Thane dies in roof collapse

Thane, Jun 26 (UNI) A minor girl from Bhiwandi town of the Thane district in Mumbai died and two other family members were injured after a portion of the roof of a house collapsed on them.

The nine-year-old girl was sleeping along with her mother and a sibling in the 30-year-old house on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday when the mishap occurred, the sources in fire brigade said.

The injured girl was rushed to the IGM Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

The duo of mother and sibling were also injured in the mishap.

The girl, Sakshi Yengandulla, was a student in the sixth standard.

At the time of the accident, the father of the victim was away, it was stated.
