Militant killed in Kashmir

Srinagar, , Nov 19 (IBNS): A militant was killed in an encounter with government forces in Kakapora area of Pulwama in south Kashmir on Saturday, police said.

A top police official said that an encounter broke out between militants and forces in Begumbagh area of Kakapora, in which one militant was killed.

 According to reports 55 Rashtriya Rifles men and Special Operation Group personnel laid an ambush in the area after receiving inputs about the militant movement. “The militant when challenged fired upon the forces and during the retaliatory action he was killed.”

The identity of the slain militant was not immediately established, however sources said he is resident of Pulwama south Kashmir.
