Middle-aged man raped six-year-old girl in Punjab, accused held
A six-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped by a middle-aged man in Bhabhiana village of Punjab.
The accused was identified as Bihari migrant Naseem Mohamma Mian of Saharsa.
He is presently working and residing at Lord Shiva Welfare Charitable Trust Ashram in Bhabhiana village.
SHO Usha Rani, while confirming the incident said here on Monday that the rapist Naseem was a colleague of Bhabiana resident Acche Lal (father of the victim girl) and both were neighbours.
As the accused was residing alone in his small jhuggi, he called the victim to help him with cutting of garlic to make food and when she went to his jhuggi the accused raped her though she screamed.
Rani said the girl was admitted to a Civil hospital late on Sunday night.
The condition of the girl was stable, Senior Medical Officer Dr Lehimber Ram said.
She said on a complaint lodged by Nidhi Devi, the mother of the girl, police have registered a case under POCSO act against Main.
He was arrested by the police, the SHO said.
