Mehbooba wants Salman Khan as J&K brand ambassador

Mumbai, Mar 18 (IBNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has appealed to the Bollywood to visit the valley to renew their connections and act as promoters of the state's tourism.

The Chief Minister also said that given an opportunity, she would like to invite Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to promote tourism in Kashmir Valley.

“The Government has put in place a tourism Policy by which the scope of the industry has been institutionalized and the relevant infrastructure is being continuously upgraded,” Mehbooba said at a function in Mumbai.

Mentioning the film industry's  warm and affectionate relationship with Kashmir which the people of the state so fondly recall, she appealed to the members of film world to take  this thread forward and start revisiting Kashmir in good numbers for shooting. .

Informing that a Tulip Festival would soon be organised in Srinagar to be  followed by a blossoming season, Mehbooba appealed to  tourists to come to enjoy this aesthetically enriching season.

Appealing to the media to play the role of a partner in promoting tourism of the State, the Chief Minister said Kashmir is as safe as any other place in the country and media should report things about the State in its entirety and perspective.

On the occasion, several Bollywood stars shared their experiences of Kashmir and said  they have special love for the place.

They assured the Chief Minister of their support  to in turning to the valley  for shooting again.
