Mehbooba Mufti calls on Rajnath Singh to discuss Kashmir issue

New Delhi, Oct 26 (IBNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss with him the current political situation in the state, reports said.

This was her first meeting with the Union Home Minister after the Government decided to have a sustained dialogue process in the state.

Reports said the two leaders will discuss the appointment of former Director of the Intelligence Bureau Dineshwar Sharma as the interlocutor on Kashmir.

Earlier,  Mufti had welcomed the appointment of  Sharma as the Government’s representative for the sustained dialogue process in the state.

The two leaders are also likely to discuss holding of panchayat polls in J  & K.

Mehbooba is being accompanied by a team of senior officers which also includes Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary BB Vyas.
