Meghalaya: Four people killed in landslide
Guwahati, June 14 (IBNS): At least four people including three women were killed and two others injured in landslide following heavy rainfall in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills on Saturday, officials said on Sunday.
The incident took place at Ratacherra village along the NH-44 connecting to Barak Valley in Assam and Tripura, Mizoram on Saturday, when a tea shop was buried in a landslide following heavy rainfall in the region.
The deceased persons were identified as 61-year-old Everyone Naijar, D Pohshna owner of the tea shop, P Pohshna, D Amse.
The injured persons Ramtripal Gupta and S Lyngdoh were rescued by BSF personnel and rushed to nearby hospital.
