Manipur police arrest person with 6 kg opium

Guwahati/IBNS: Manipur police arrested a person with a six kg of opium in Bishnupur district on Sunday.

According to the reports, a combined team of Bishnupur CDO and police personnel of Moirang police station had launched an operation and arrested a drug peddler along with contraband drug suspected to be opium from Toronglaobi Maning Leikai area.

The arrested person was identified as 52-year-old Tonglun Kipgen.

Security personnel have recovered six kg of opium in possession from him.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Moirang police station for further investigation.
