Imphal/UNI: Manipur government Sunday has declared a complete curfew throughout most areas of the state due to escalating tensions between two ethnic groups.

Police said about 1057 arms and 14201 ammunition have been recovered in the valley districts and 138 arms and 121 ammunition have been recovered in the hill districts.

After the killing of three persons at Bishnupur district, a combined team of 5/9 GR and other security personnel nabbed a militant at Mungchamkom under New Keithelmanbi Police Station along with one magazine and 50 rounds, police said.

The Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) condemns killings in Bishnupur, Manipur, and announces social boycott of the government for not convening a special session.

They also accuse security agencies of supporting narco-terrorists. Manipur Assembly session set for Aug 21 despite demands for earlier date.

Meanwhile, ten additional companies of central security agencies were airlifted to Imphal since midnight.
