Mangaluru: Police arrest a rowdy sheeter after shooting him in leg

Mangaluru, May 10 (UNI) Police have arrested a notorious rowdy sheeter, Gowrish, after opening fire at him in self defence and injuring on his leg, here on Thursday night.

According to police sources, the incident occurred when a police team went to arrest Gowrish, a notorious criminal facing several cases including that of riots, murder charges and robbery and confronted him. When he tried to attack the police party, they fired on his legs and nabbed him with lethal weapons.

The accused had been admitted to a hospital, and a case had been registered into the incident.

The arrested rowdy sheeter allegedly had a link with the underworld gangs, the sources said.
