Man arrested for selling beef in Nanded, Maharashtra

Nanded, Mar 6 (UNI): Police arrested a man for allegedly slaughtering an ox and selling its flesh in Bilal Nagar area of the city on Wednesday.

A police team on patrol found the man carrying out illegal sale of beef from a house in Bilal Nagar area. The accused has been identified as Khalid Khatik, police said.

He was taken into custody after a veterinarian of the Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporation verified the meat to be beef.

The police has filed a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 2015, sources said.
