Mamata Banerjee wishes former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav on son's wedding

Kolkata, May 11 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday congratulated former Bihat CM Lalu Prasad Yadav over the marriage of his son  Tej Pratap Yadav.

Mamata said she was happy that Yadav got bail.

"Heartiest congratulations @laluprasadrjd Lalu Ji on the happy occasion of the marriage of your son. Also happy too that you got bail. Best wishes to your family," she tweeted.

Yadav was recently engaged to senior Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Chandrika Rai's daughter Aishwarya.

They are scheduled to get married on Saturday.

The Jharkhand High Court on Friday granted six weeks provisional bail to  RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on medical grounds, media reports said quoting his  counsel Prabhat Kumar.

The provisional bail was granted by Justice Apresh Kumar Singh.

Currently, the former Bihar Chief Minister is on a three-day parole to attend his son Tej Pratap’s wedding on May 12.

Prasad is serving time in jail after conviction in three different fodder scam cases.

Prasad, who was serving sentence in Ranchi Birsa Munda Cental jail, was admitted to hospital after complaining illness.
