Mamata Banerjee extends COVID-19 lockdown in West Bengal till June 30

Kolkata/UNI: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced the decision of extending lockdown in the state due to the COVID-19 outbreak till June 30.

The State Government has also announced a slew of lockdown relaxations.

These relaxations include allowing restaurants, hotels and malls to reopen while enforcing social distancing norms.

Earlier in the day, Mizoram imposed a two-week total lockdown in the state with effect from June 9 following the prevailing situation.

It might be mentioned that Maharashtra, Punjab, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have already announced a lockdown till 30 June but with relaxations.
