Jalna (Maharashtra), Jun 4 (UNI) Two government employees attached with Panchayat Samiti of Mantha taluka of the district have been arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from Sarpanch on Tuesday, the ACB sources said.

To get a report of development works which were carried out in the village, when the Sarpanch approached the extension officer Atmaram Chavan (50) and Snehal Bhosle (36), junior engineer, the duo sought Rs 40,000 as a bribe otherwise they threatened him that they conduct a false inquiry against him and give a false report about his work.

Aggrieved sarpanch agreed to pay first installment of Rs 20,000 at a Hotel in Mantha and informed ACB Jalna office and registered a complaint against them.

Police laid a trap and nabbed the duo while accepting the bribe, ACB sources added.
