Aurangabad/UNI: Section 144 has been enforced in limits of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation from Thursday midnight in the wake of the rising numbers of the novel coronavirus cases here.

The state government epidemic act of 1897 sections 2,3 and 4 has already been imposed in the state.

The order is meant to remain in force till May 3.

In the past four days, the city has reported 47 new COVID-19 patients that have mounted the total number of positive cases to 100 with seven deaths.

Meanwhile, the Aurangabad Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh has decided to close the New Mondha (Market) and the old Mondha till May 3 to prevent the spread of infection.

The organisation has also planned to set up a health camp.

Police have made adequate security arrangement across the city to ensure no gathering.

Maharashtra Day that is celebrated on May 1 will see simpler observation across the state.
