Maharashtra: Man killed after car falls into pit dug in Thane

Thane, May 15 (UNI) A 31-year-old man was killed on Wednesday morning after his car fell into a pit dug up for drainage work here, an official said.

The incident took place around 0615 hrs near Mulla Baug bus depot here, he said.

Chief of the RDMC TMC Santosh Kadam said that the deceased Sachin Kakodkar (31) was driving the car.

Upon getting the message, the rescue team rushed in and pulled out the car with the help of Hydra vehicle.

He was rushed to the private hospital and declared dead around 0715 hrs, the official said.

The drainage work was being carried out by Eagle Construction company, the authorities said.
