Aurangabad/UNI: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) activists on Wednesday held a protest at Kranti chowk here against the Mahavikas Agadhi government for arresting Republic TV Editor-In-Chief Arnab Goswami in connection with the death of interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik in 2018.

BJP party workers, led by the Aurangabad party chief Sanjay Kenekar, MLA Atul Save along with the Mahila Morcha, demonstrated against the state government at Kranti Chowk, raising slogans against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Home minister Anil Deshmukh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

Later, talking to media persons, MLA Save said that the state government had arrested Goswami as he had exposed a number of wrong doings that had been carried out by the present government.

He further said that not only Goswami but the state government was targeting the fourth pillar of democracy, by their act.

He further accused that this government was trying to impose an emergency like situation in the state.

Kenekar said that, now we were agitating on road with the support of the people, but next time we will throng to the Mantrlaya to pull down the government .

Meanwhile, a number of party workers along with Save and Kenekar were detained by the police.
