Maharashtra: 142 policemen elated after getting transfers to preferred places

Palghar, May 29 (UNI) A total of 142 policemen belonging to the District Rural Police Constabulary(DRPC) were joyous on receiving their transfer orders as they were shifted to the places of their choice or locations near to the preferred places.

The transfers of these policemen to their preferred places was possible due to the efforts of the Palghar DSP Gaurav Singh and this move has set a good precedent in the Maharashtra Police Force.

The District Police said that the committee overseeing the transfers had received as many as 142 applications and the applicants were asked to give three location preferences for transfers,a release said.

Of them, as many as 117 were transferred to the places of their choice and another 25 were transferred to the location near their place of choice, the release added.

DSP Singh said, "The policemen toil day and night and under such circumstances they should get time for their families.Their inconvenience should be reduced hence this transfer system was devised and the procedure of transfer will go a long way in increasing their efficiency."
