Guwahati, June 3 (IBNS) : The Assam government on Wednesday sent at least 34 samples of popular noodles brand Maggi for testing to the state laboratory.

The samples were collected from different districts in the state.

"We have already sent the samples to the state laboratory and waiting for the final report, " a top official of the state Health and Family Welfare department said.

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday ordered the state's Health and Family Welfare department to submit a report on Maggi noodles after Uttar Pradesh FDA found higher than stimulated levels of lead and monosodium glutamate in the food item.
