Madhya Pradesh tunnel collapses, seven labourers rescued, two trapped

Bhopal/IBNS: Nine labourers were trapped after an under-construction tunnel of the Bargi canal project collapsed at Sleemanabad in Madhya Pradesh's Katni district. Seven of them have been rescued so far while two are still trapped.

Relief operations at the site are continuing.
Local officials, along with the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) team, are trying to safely rescue the remaining labourers.
The incident took place late on Saturday evening.

Madhya Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Rajesh Rajora is monitoring the rescue operation from the state secretariat, said reports.
