Patna, Mar 23 (UNI) The ruling BJP on Saturday denied tickets to sitting party MP from Patna Sahib Shatrughan Sinha even as union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad would contest election from the prestigious constituency instead of him.

NDA released the names of 39 candidates out of total 40 candidates.

The name of actor-turned-politician Sinha who had won from Patna Sahib on BJP ticket in 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections did not figure in the list.

Former union minister Shahnabaz Hussain who had lost 2014 Lok Sabha election from Bhagalpur had also been denied party ticket.
