Lok Sabha Poll: Telangana govt declares public holiday on April 11

Hyderabad, Mar 29 (UNI) The Telangana Government on Friday issued a notification declaring April 11 as a public holiday under negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, in view of polling for 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.

In its notification, State Chief secretary Shailendra Kumar Joshi said that the poll day on April 11 (Thursday), to be a General holiday for the government offices and educational institutions in the areas of the 17 parliamentary constituencies in the state.  

The first phase of Lok Sabha polls will be held on Apr 11.

The polling this time will be held in seven phases.

Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
