Lok Sabha poll results: BJP-Shiv Sena wins 8 seats in Vidarbha

Nagpur, May 24 (UNI): Riding on its winning spree across the country, the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance has also dominated the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra by winning 8 out of the 10 seats in the region while Congress managed to grab only 1.

Independent candidate Navneet Rana of Yuva Swabhiman Party was declared winner from Amravati. Rana wrested the seat from Shiv Sena after 20 years with the support of NCP and Congress.

Official sources said the prominent candidates who won the general election, 2019 from Vidarbha region of Maharashtra are Union Minister Nitin Gadkari(BJP) from Nagpur Loksabha seat , Krupal Tumane(Shiv Sena) from Ramtek, Ramdas Tadas(BJP) from Wardha, Sunil Mendhe (BJP) from Bhandara-Gondia, Bhawna Gawali(Shiv Sena) from Yavatmal-Washim, Sanjay Dhotre (BJP) from Akola ,Ashok Nete (BJP) from (Gadchiroli) and Prataprao Jadhav(Shiv Sena) from Buldhana declared victorious after final round of the counting of the votes.

Union Minister of state for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir lost its Chandrapur seat at the hands of Congress candidate Suresh alias Balu Dhanorkar.

Adv Prakash Ambedkar's party Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) could not open its account in the state.
