Lalu Prasad authorised for selection of candidates for Lok Sabha and assembly byelections

Patna, Mar 9 (UNI) RJD`s central parliamentary board today authorised party president Lalu Prasad for selection of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly byelections.

After the meeting of RJD`s parliamentary board, RJD spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha and party secretary general and MLC Qamar Alam told newspersons here that RJD supremo Mr Prasad had been authorised to take a final decision on selection of candidates in backdrop of proposals received from state party council of Bihar, Jharkhand and other states in this regard.

Additionally, Prasad had also been authorised for selection of candidates for assembly by election.

RJD leaders said that in the parliamentary board meeting, party chief Mr Prasad was also given the responsibility to form an alliance with like-minded parties.

To a query, they said that allies of grand alliance would hold a meeting soon in view of ensuing Lok Sabha election. Grand alliance in Bihar comprises RJD, Congress, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, Hindustani Awam Morcha and Vikasshil Insan Party.
