Kolkata, Oct 29 (IBNS): 'Unidentified' miscreants robbed an outlet of a renowned Indian cafe chain at gunpoint in Kolkata's satellite city Salt Lake on Monday morning, reports said.

According to reports, at least four armed men came to the outlet of Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) at AD Block under Bidhannagar North Police Station limits in Salt Lake Sector I at around 10:30 am. and they allegedly looted more than 20,000 rupees from the cash counter as well as few smartphones from the coffee joint's staffers.

After being informed, local police and officials from Bidhannagar City Police's detective department rushed to the scene and initiated an investigation into the robbery.

"We are examining the CCTV footage of the coffee shop and quizzing its employees to identify the looters," a senior official of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate told IBNS.

"Based on a complaint lodged by the cafe chain authority, a probe is on in the matter while we are trying to ensure that no staffer of the outlet was involved in the crime," the officer added.

However, none has been arrested so far in connection with the case.
