Kolkata: Gold worth Rs 7 Cr and cash over Rs 75 lakh seized, 6 arrested

Kolkata, Mar 30 (UNI) The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized smuggled gold over 16.5 kgs, worth nearly Rs 7 crore and confiscated unaccounted cash of Indian currencies Rs 75 lakh, and arrested six accused people, police said on Saturday.

The DRI conduced raids between March 26-28 ahead of the Lok Sabha poll to check flowing of unaccounted money across the city.

The DRI conducted raids at some hotels in Sudder Street, south Kolkata, Burra Bazar and Salt Lake area.
