Kolkata: Fire breaks out at Park Street office building, firefighting ops underway

Kolkata, Nov 5 (IBNS): A major fire broke out at a multi-storey office building in south Kolkata's Park Street area on Monday morning, reports said.

According to reports, the fire was first noticed at around 11 am. inside a server room of Apeejay House which is located on the fifth floor of the office building.

As many as ten fire tenders along with a hydraulic ladder, local police and Disaster Management Group (DMG) personnel rushed to the scene and firefighters are currently battling to douse the massive blaze.

A fire and emergency services official said that there was no report of anyone trapped inside the building.

"All employees of the office building have been evacuated safely and none is trapped inside the multi-storey," a fire official told IBNS.

"Our men are currently fighting with the fire and we are expecting that it will be doused very soon," the official added.

However, a police official said that no casualty has been reported in the incident so far.
