Kolkata: CMRI hospital vandalised following patient's death

Kolkata, Feb 15 (IBNS): Privately-run CMRI hospital in Kolkata's Ekbalpore area was reportedly ransacked shortly after the death of a patient on Wednesday, reports said.

According to reports, a young woman from Ekbalpore area took admission at the hospital on Tuesday in a serious condition and died on the following morning.

After being informed, her family members rushed to the hospital and alleging that their patient had died due to facility's negligence, they vandalized the facility.

They also beat hospital staffers and blocked Diamond Harbour Road nearby, disrupting traffic at pick office hours.

Later a heavy police force from Ekbalpore Police Station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

The CMRI authority, however, denied allegations of negligence against them.
