New Delhi, May 22 (IBNS): Starting a new innings in her career, former top cop Kiran Bedi was appointed as the Lt. Governor of Puducherry on Sunday.

"The President of India has been pleased to appoint Ms. Kiran Bedi, to be the Lt. Governor of Puducherry with effect from the date she assumes charges of her office," read an official statement.

Reacting on the matter, Bedi tweeted: "This belongs to all who reposed their trust in me, taught me, groomed me, educated me, found time for me. Thank you."

Bedi entered the arena of politics few years ago.
